How to use the overlay
Download the PNG at the resolution of your sequence, import it, and drop it on the top video track for the length of the timeline. Everything inside the box stays clear of platform buttons and captions. Hide the track before you export, or it ships with your video.
Crop, or fit with bars
Filling a 9:16 frame from 16:9 footage keeps only about a third of the width, so anything important needs repositioning rather than a straight centre crop. Fitting inside instead keeps the whole frame and adds bars, which suits screen recordings and graphics where cropping would lose information.
Why these numbers are approximate
Platforms move their interface regularly, and the space taken by captions changes with the length of the caption and whether the viewer has comments open. Treat the safe box as the area that survives most layouts, and keep genuinely critical text nearer the centre than the edge.
